Albany, GA- The Albany State University Lady Golden Rams open the 2024 volleyball season at home against the Middle Georgia State University at 6:00 pm in the Jones Brothers Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex on Tuesday, September 3, in Albany, GA.
 
The Golden Rams were selected to finish first in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Jarianis Perez has been honored as the 2024 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and Preseason First-Team All-SIAC along with teammate Natalie Onozie.  

In 2023, the Golden Rams finished 20-14 overall and were 16-3 in the SIAC.

The Knights opened the 2024 campaign with a preseason home match against the Wolves of Wesleyan College on August 17th before starting the regular season on the road in the Running Eagle Classic at Life University with matches against Bryan College, Warner University, and Florida National University on August 23rd. The Lady Knights currently have a 1-3 record and hope to snap their losing streak and capture their second win.

As we head into tomorrow's match, the Golden Rams last faced Middle Georgia State in the season opener in 2019. The Golden Rams have won the last three matches against the Lady Knights and hope to extend the streak.
