Lady Golden Rams Set for First Round Battle Against Miles College in SIAC Softball Championship

Albany, GA – The Albany State University Lady Golden Rams are ready to kick off their postseason journey as they take on Miles College in the first round of the 2025 SIAC Softball Championship Tournament. The tournament is set for April 28–30 at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Georgia.

The Lady Golden Rams (25-13 overall, 15-8 SIAC) enter the tournament as the Eastern Division No. 2 seed, following a strong regular season that saw them close on a high note with a sweep over Trinity Baptist College. Meanwhile, the Miles College Lady Bears (10-25 overall, 10-11 SIAC) secured the No. 4 seed in the West Division and are looking to make a statement in tournament play.

This will not be the first meeting between Albany State and Miles this season. The Lady Golden Rams claimed a 12-8 victory over the Lady Bears in a regular season matchup on March 12, 2025, extending their all-time series lead to 14-8 dating back to 2012.

Led by a balanced attack at the plate and a strong pitching staff, Albany State will look to maintain their momentum and make a deep run toward the championship. Key players to watch include Avery Fisher, Trista Murphy, and Kaliyah Smith, who have each delivered clutch performances down the stretch.
