Lady Golden Rams Sweep Trinity Baptist to Close Out Regular Season on a High Note

Albany, GA – The Albany State University Lady Golden Rams softball team capped off their regular season in dominant fashion, sweeping Trinity Baptist College in a doubleheader at Golden Rams' Field on West Campus. With the victories, Albany State improves to 25-13 overall, while the Lady Eagles fall to 6-32 on the season.

Game 1: Albany State 7, Trinity Baptist 3
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the third, the Lady Golden Rams quickly answered and never looked back. The third inning saw Madison Hurt steal second, bringing home Kaliyah Smith Barnes to tie the game. The offense came alive in the fourth with a six-run surge led by Ty Brown's RBI single and a game-breaking three-RBI triple by Hurt. A defensive miscue and an RBI single by Romona McLeod added insurance runs.
Kaliyah Smith Barnes earned the win in the circle with 5.2 innings, striking out nine batters and allowing just four hits. Romona McLeod came in for the final four outs to record the save.

Game 2: Albany State 11, Trinity Baptist 1
The Lady Golden Rams wasted no time in Game 2, putting up three runs in the first inning and erupting for eight more across the second and third frames. Kady Ayers had a standout game, going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Avery Fisher and Romona McLeod each drove in two runs during a third-inning barrage that put the game out of reach.
Trista Murphy earned the win with 4.0 strong innings, giving up only two hits and no earned runs, while Mary Scott Hulsey closed the door with a perfect fifth inning to seal the run-rule win.
