Albany, GA – The Albany State University Golden Rams softball team is gearing up for one final home stand as they host Trinity Baptist College in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Golden Rams' Field on ASU's West Campus. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM, with Game 2 to follow at 3:00 PM.
This non-conference doubleheader marks the final home appearance for the Golden Rams this regular season, and the team is looking to ride the wave of momentum from a dominant three-game series sweep over Allen University this past weekend. In that matchup, the Golden Rams showcased a balanced attack at the plate and in the circle, outscoring the Lady Yellow Jackets 50-8 across the series to improve to 23-13 overall and 15-8 in SIAC play.
Meanwhile, the visiting Trinity Baptist College Lady Eagles come into Albany after splitting a doubleheader against Edward Waters University on April 14. The Lady Eagles grabbed a hard-fought 4-2 victory in Game 1 before falling 16-0 in Game 2. They'll look to bounce back and make a statement as they take the field against a red-hot Golden Rams squad.
The Golden Rams and Lady Eagles have a brief but competitive history, with their most recent meeting coming on April 26, 2024, where the two teams split a doubleheader. Prior to that, Albany State rattled off five consecutive wins in the series dating back to February 12, 2022, when ASU claimed a 6-3 victory in their first matchup in recent memory.
