"The Team Behind The Team"
Albany State Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Program
The goal of the Albany State University Athletic Training staff and Sports Medicine Team is two-fold focusing on the prevention and care of athletic injuries.
Prevention of athletic injuries is accomplished through pre-participation physical exams, medical and health screenings, preventative maintenance rehabilitation programs, strength and conditioning programs, taping, padding, bracing, and education. When injuries do occur, the athletic training staff’s responsibility is to evaluate, diagnose, and provide proper care.
The Athletic Training staff at Albany State University has one common goal of returning athletes to their optimal performance level as quickly and safely as possible.
Vision Statement:
The Albany State University Sports Medicine Program shall provide injury prevention, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and educational services of recognized excellence to every student-athlete. The Albany State University sports medicine team is committed to becoming the leader in sports medicine, education, and research throughout all NCAA Division II Colleges and Universities.
Mission Statement:
Above all else, the underlying philosophy for the sports medicine program is to have the best interest of our student-athletes as our top priority and first consideration for all members of the Athletic Training Staff and Sports Medicine Team at Albany State University. Our mission is to prevent, evaluate, and treat student-athletes with the highest quality medical care in order to help the student-athletes perform safely at their greatest potential.
