ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany State baseball program has been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes high school and collegiate baseball programs that maintain a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the academic year while being led by an ABCA member head coach. More than 500 collegiate programs nationwide received the honor for the 2025-26 academic year.
The recognition reflects the Golden Rams' commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom, highlighting the dedication of the student-athletes and coaching staff to achieving success academically while competing at a high level.
Albany State continues to uphold the department's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.

Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 12 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, baseball, and football, with all teams competing in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
