Albany, Ga. — Albany State Athletics proudly celebrated the accomplishments of 47 student-athletes and interns who earned their degrees during the Spring 2026 commencement ceremonies at Albany State University.
The graduating class includes athletes from multiple programs across the department and reflects Golden Ram Athletics' continued commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and personal development. These student-athletes successfully balanced the demands of collegiate athletics while excelling in the classroom and making meaningful contributions throughout the university and local community.
With the addition of the Spring 2026 class, Albany State Athletics has now celebrated 90 graduates during the 2025-26 academic year and 194 graduates since July 2023.
Albany State Athletics has placed a strong emphasis not only on academic success, but also on degree completion and preparing student-athletes for life after ASU. Through structured academic support, study hall programming, consistent progress monitoring, and the celebration of academic achievement, the department continues to prioritize helping student-athletes reach the graduation stage prepared for the next chapter of their lives beyond athletics.

Dr. Kristene Kelly praised the graduating class for their resilience and impact throughout their collegiate journeys.
"Seeing our student-athletes reach the graduation stage and leave Albany State prepared for the next chapter is one of the greatest measures of success for our department. We are proud of each of these graduates and excited about the impact they will continue to make beyond ASU."
The accomplishments of the graduating class further reinforce Albany State Athletics' mission of developing champions academically, athletically, professionally, and personally. From conference championships and postseason appearances to community engagement and academic recognition, the graduates helped make another successful year for the department.
As they prepare to begin the next chapter of their lives, the Spring 2026 graduates leave Albany State equipped with experiences, relationships, and lessons that will continue to guide them long after graduation day.

ABOUT ALBANY STATE ATHLETICS
Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football, with all teams competing in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
