Albany State Places Two Student-Athletes in NCAA Career in Sports Forum

Albany, Ga. – Albany State University will be represented by two student-athletes at the 2026 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, as women's basketball student-athlete Tiffani Goodman and softball student-athlete Avrey Fisher have been selected to attend the prestigious program.

The NCAA Career in Sports Forum, held May 27–30 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a highly selective professional development experience designed to expose student-athletes to careers in athletics administration and the broader sports industry. Participants engage in leadership training, networking opportunities, and interactive programming with NCAA staff and industry professionals.

Goodman, a rising senior from Americus, Georgia, recently completed her first season with the Golden Rams after transferring from Coastal Alabama Community College. A business major with an entrepreneurial mindset, she has made an immediate impact while maintaining a 3.20 GPA.

Fisher, a senior health and human performance major with a concentration in exercise science, has excelled both on the field and in the classroom. She holds a 3.87 GPA and ranks among the SIAC's top offensive players in multiple categories, including on-base percentage, RBIs, and total hits.

"To have two student-athletes selected for a program like this speaks to the type of young people we have at Albany State," said Director of Athletics Kristene Kelly. "Tiffani and Avrey have both been intentional about their growth beyond the game, and this opportunity allows them to continue building toward their futures. This is what #CreatingLegacies looks like."

Goodman is looking forward to the opportunity to expand her network and gain insight into potential career paths within athletics and beyond.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to represent Albany State at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum," said Goodman. "I'm looking forward to learning from professionals in the industry, building relationships, and gaining knowledge that will help me as I continue to grow my career and business goals."

Fisher also sees the experience as an important step in her development beyond softball.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to represent Albany State at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum," said Fisher. "It's a chance for me to continue growing, learning from others in the industry, and preparing for what's next beyond softball. I take pride in being intentional about my future, and this experience is another step in that process."
