Atlanta, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its 2024–25 Academic Team Honors on Wednesday, and Albany State University proudly had 79 student-athletes recognized for their academic excellence throughout the academic year.
The SIAC honored a total of 908 student-athletes across the conference through the SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team, All-Academic Team, and individual team honors, spotlighting those who have not only excelled in athletic competition but have also demonstrated a strong commitment to their academic pursuits.
The SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team celebrates student-athletes who have earned a 3.4 cumulative GPA or higher for the academic year, highlighting those who maintain academic excellence while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics.
Additionally, SIAC All-Academic Team honors were awarded to student-athletes who held the highest cumulative GPA in their respective sports, serving as academic leaders and role models within their teams.
Albany State's representation on these prestigious lists reflects the institution's unwavering commitment to the success of its student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom. With 79 honorees, the Golden Rams continue to build a culture of academic discipline, integrity, and achievement.
"I'm so proud of our student-athletes for showing that you can handle business on the field and in the classroom," said
Dr. Kristene Kelly, Director of Athletics. "Making the Commissioner's All-American Academic Team is no small feat; this is what #CreatingLegacies looks like."
The announcement comes on the heels of a strong academic year for Albany State Athletics, where the department achieved a 3.11 GPA for Spring 2025 and a 3.13 cumulative GPA for the year.
