Golden Rams Baseball Set to Face Miles College in SIAC Championship Opener

Albany, GA – The Albany State University Golden Rams are postseason bound and set to open play in the 2025 SIAC Baseball Championship Tournament on Thursday, May 1, at Luther Williams Field in Macon, Georgia. The Golden Rams will face Miles College in the first round, with the first pitch slated for later in the day following the tournament's 8 a.m. ET opening.

Albany State enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed with an overall record of 26-20 and a 21-12 conference mark. The Golden Rams are looking to make a deep postseason run, fueled by a powerful offense and strong pitching corps that helped them sweep Miles earlier this season.

Miles College, the No. 5 seed, arrives in Macon with a 23-23-1 overall record and a 17-14 SIAC record. The Bears will be looking to avenge their recent losses to Albany State, who swept them in a three-game series on April 11-12, outscoring the Bears 31-6 across the series. The sweep extended the Golden Rams' all-time series lead over the Bears to 18-6, dating back to their first meeting on April 26, 2012.

Albany State is currently riding high after a competitive regular season and will rely on veteran leadership, timely hitting, and clutch pitching to carry them through the bracket.
