Golden Rams Head to Miles College for Key SIAC Series in Birmingham

Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams are back in conference action this weekend as they travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for a pivotal three-game SIAC series against Miles College. The series opens on Friday, April 11, with a single game scheduled for 2:30 PM CST, and concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 12:00 PM CST.

The Golden Rams (19-18, 14-10 SIAC) are coming off a strong weekend series win over Morehouse, where they took two of three games. Albany State's momentum continues to build as they push toward the final stretch of the regular season and fight for favorable positioning in the SIAC standings.

Meanwhile, the Miles College Golden Bears (18-17-1, 13-9 SIAC) are looking to bounce back after falling 6-8 to Alabama A&M in the Magic City Diamond Classic on April 8. The Bears are expected to come out swinging, aiming to reclaim their rhythm and protect home turf in a key conference showdown.

Albany State has historically controlled the series, holding a 17-9 advantage over Miles College dating back to February 12, 2011. In their most recent meeting on February 24, 2024, the Golden Rams edged out an 8-5 win in Game 3 to secure the series victory. Although Albany State dropped Game 2 of that series, they walked away with the overall win.
