Atlanta, GA – The Albany State University men's and women's track & field teams delivered a strong showing at the Morehouse Relays this past weekend, with the men's team securing a runner-up finish with 139 points and the women's team taking third place with 130 points. The Golden Rams showcased dominance across multiple events, including standout individual and relay performances.
Day 1 Highlights:
- Micah Forsythe took home first place in the Men's Decathlon with a total score of 4,641 points, setting the tone for the Golden Rams.
- Julianna Kern placed fourth in the Women's Heptathlon, recording a total of 2,595 points.
Day 2 Highlights:
- Zenay Rhaney delivered a first-place finish in the Women's 800m (2:18.20), while Jonathan Kelly recorded a personal best in the Men's 800m, finishing second (1:52.62).
- Kibren Moore sprinted to victory in the Men's 200m Dash (21.26), while Cadence Cray finished fifth in the Women's 200m (24.87).
- Azwan Nembhard-Belcher claimed fourth in the Men's Triple Jump (14.61m), and Taniyah Kelley finished third in the Women's Triple Jump (11.55m).
- In the field events, Isaac Moody placed third in the Men's Hammer Throw (40.00m), and Santaria Cantrell matched that finish in the Women's Hammer Throw (30.78m).
- Julianna Kern added a third-place finish in the Women's High Jump (1.55m).
Day 3 Highlights:
- Nathalia Rowe secured first place in the Women's 400m Hurdles (1:00.48), and Jordan Smith placed second in the Men's 400m Hurdles (53.43).
- The Men's 4x100m Relay team (Jayvon Hutchinson, Kibren Moore, Demario Jackson, Tyler Mapson) delivered a dominant first-place finish (40.56).
- The Women's 4x100m Relay team (Dasia Gilyard, Cadence Cray, Taniyah Kelley, Jeniya Lawrence) also captured first place with a time of 46.18.
- Kibren Moore continued his stellar meet, winning the Men's 100m Dash (10.60), while Cadence Cray took the Women's 100m Dash title (12.08).
- Jayvon Hutchinson claimed first in the Men's 110m Hurdles (14.50).
- The Women's 4x400m Relay team (Nathalia Rowe, Dasia Gilyard, Cadence Cray, Kennedy Simmons) secured a strong second-place finish (3:51.00).
- Adoni Nembhard-Belcher placed third in the Men's Long Jump (6.90m), and DeAna Albert finished third in the Women's Pole Vault (2.45m).

The Golden Rams will now shift their focus to the Legends Invite, hosted by the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. With their strong performances at the Morehouse Relays, the team will look to build on their momentum as they continue the outdoor season.

Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently field teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football. All teams compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
