Golden Rams Set for Midweek Showdown Against West Alabama on Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams (15-14) return to action on Wednesday, March 26, as they host the University of West Alabama (16-15) in a non-conference midweek matchup at West Campus Baseball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM, as the Golden Rams celebrate Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, honoring the dedication and contributions of Albany State University's employees.

Albany State enters the contest eager to bounce back after a tough 1-2 series loss to Benedict College this past weekend. The Golden Rams showed offensive firepower in their dominant 24-6 Game 2 victory, but struggled in the other two matchups. ASU will look to regain momentum and sharpen their play before resuming conference action.

The West Alabama Tigers (16-15) arrive in Albany following a three-game series sweep at the hands of Delta State on March 21-22. UWA has faced a tough stretch of opponents and will aim to turn things around against the Golden Rams in this midweek contest.

Tomorrow's game marks just the third meeting between Albany State and West Alabama since May 2015 (L, 5-11). The two teams last faced off on February 1, 2020, in a tightly contested battle, where ASU fell short 5-6. The Golden Rams will look to secure their first victory in the series as they take on the Tigers at home.
