Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams will hit the road for a crucial SIAC conference series against Benedict College at Tiger Field in Columbia, SC, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22, at noon and concluding with a single game on Sunday, March 23, at 1:00 PM.
The Golden Rams (14-12, 9-6 SIAC) enter the weekend riding high after a statement midweek victory over the University of Tampa on March 18. ASU looks to build on that momentum as they resume conference play, where they have historically dominated against Benedict.
Meanwhile, the Tigers (8-8, 6-8 SIAC) are looking to bounce back after dropping their weekend series against Savannah State (March 15-16), losing 2-1. Benedict will aim to defend its home field and challenge Albany State, but history favors the Golden Rams, who hold a commanding 23-7 series lead dating back to April 14, 2012.
Albany State has been nearly untouchable against Benedict in recent years, with the Tigers' last victory coming on March 31, 2019. Despite that loss, the Golden Rams still claimed the series win, continuing their dominance over their conference rivals.
With Albany State continuing its quest for a conference championship, this weekend's series against Benedict College will be another key test in SIAC play.
