ALBANY, GA – The Albany State University baseball team is gearing up to face the top-ranked University of Tampa Spartans in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The game will take place at the West Campus Baseball Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:00 PM ET. The Golden Rams, currently with a record of 13-12, are eager to challenge themselves against one of the leading programs in NCAA Division II baseball.

Albany State enters the contest following a hard-fought 2-1 series victory over SIAC opponent Edward Waters this past weekend. The Golden Rams have shown resilience this season and will look to challenge a nationally ranked powerhouse on their home field.
The University of Tampa comes into the contest with an impressive 20-3 record, having just completed a dominant three-game sweep over Palm Beach Atlantic. Tampa enters the matchup looking to extend its winning streak and maintain its top national ranking.
Albany State and Tampa have faced off 18 times since February 28, 2013, with the Spartans holding a commanding lead in the all-time series. The Golden Rams' most recent victory over Tampa came on March 7, 2020, when ASU secured a thrilling 3-2 win to snap a four-game losing streak. However, the Spartans currently hold a 3-0 advantage over ASU in their most recent meetings, including a 13-2 win over the Golden Rams early last season on February 26, 2024.
