Lady Golden Rams Set for SIAC Tournament First-Round Battle at Tuskegee

Albany, GA – The #7-seeded Albany State Lady Golden Rams are gearing up for a high-stakes showdown as they travel to Tuskegee, AL, to take on the #2-seeded Tuskegee Lady Golden Tigers in the first round of the SIAC Women's Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM at Tuskegee University, where the Lady Golden Rams will look to pull off an upset and extend their postseason run.

The Lady Golden Rams enter the tournament with an 8-17 overall record (5-14 SIAC) after battling through a tough regular season. Despite their record, Albany State has shown resilience and the ability to compete against top teams in the conference. They will look to channel that determination into a strong performance against a Tuskegee squad that finished the regular season 17-9 overall (14-5 SIAC) and secured the #2 seed in the SIAC West Division.

The last time these two teams met on January 15, 2025, fans were treated to a defensive battle that extended into overtime. The Lady Golden Rams put up a fight, but the Lady Golden Tigers managed to escape with a 51-47 victory. That game proved that
Albany State can go toe-to-toe with one of the conference's top teams, and they'll look to use that experience as motivation heading into Saturday's rematch.

With a win, the Lady Golden Rams would advance to the SIAC Quarterfinals and continue their journey toward a conference championship. A loss would mark the end of their season, making this a must-win contest.
