Albany State Women’s Basketball Welcomes Ashley Jones and Yasmine Fairchild to Coaching Staff

Albany, Ga. – Albany State University Women's Basketball is proud to announce the addition of Ashley Jones as the new Women's Basketball Program Coordinator and Yasmine Fairchild as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Both bring a strong connection to the Golden Rams family and a passion for elevating the program, both on and off the court.

Jones, a 2025 graduate of Albany State University, earned her bachelor's degree in Communication and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Management from Georgia Southern University. As Program Coordinator, Jones will oversee the daily operations of the women's basketball program, including team logistics, communications, and support for student-athletes. Her background in communication, combined with her organizational and leadership skills, makes her an ideal fit for the role as the Golden Rams continue to build a competitive and student-centered program.

Fairchild, also a 2025 graduate of Albany State University, hails from Lawrenceville, Georgia. She earned her bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance and is now pursuing a master's
degree while beginning her collegiate coaching career. During her time at Albany State, Fairchild competed as a member of the Golden Rams Women's Basketball program, where she demonstrated leadership and dedication as a student-athlete.

Before joining Albany State, Fairchild began her collegiate basketball career at USC Aiken. At the prep level, she excelled at Discovery High School, where she was a three-sport varsity letter-winner in basketball, volleyball, and track & field. She earned Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman and capped her senior season with a Second Team All-Region selection. As Assistant Coach, Fairchild will work closely with the Golden Rams' student-athletes to provide mentorship, skill development, and a player-centered approach to coaching.

Interim Head Coach Todd expressed enthusiasm about the new staff additions:
"We are thrilled to welcome Ashley and Yasmine to our women's basketball staff. Both are proud Albany State graduates who understand our culture, values, and the commitment it takes to succeed at this level. Their energy and dedication  will be invaluable as we continue to grow the program."
With Jones and Fairchild joining the staff, Albany State Women's Basketball looks forward to continuing its mission of developing student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and personally.
