The Golden Rams enter the weekend looking to get back on track after a midweek non-conference loss to Columbus State (Feb. 26). Despite the setback, Albany State has been dominant in SIAC play, winning five of their first six conference games.
Meanwhile, the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen (5-7, 0-6 SIAC) are still searching for their first conference win after being swept by Benedict College in their previous series (Feb. 22-23). The Golden Rams will aim to capitalize on that momentum gap and continue their strong start to conference play.
Albany State holds a commanding 16-3 all-time series lead over LeMoyne-Owen, dating back to 2012. The Golden Rams swept the Magicians in their last series in February 2024, extending a dominant winning streak. The last time LeMoyne-Owen defeated ASU was in 2017, when they took back-to-back games on May 5 (14-4) and May 6 (10-9).
With SIAC positioning on the line, Albany State will aim to build on its strong conference start and take care of business on the road before returning home for its next stretch of games. Meanwhile, LeMoyne-Owen is hungry to turn things around and will be looking to pull off an upset.
