In front of a packed gymnasium on Labor Day, the Albany State Golden Rams and the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks competed in a highly competitive volleyball game at The Jones Brothers Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex.
It took 4 sets, but the Warhawks defeated the Golden Rams. With the loss, the Golden Rams fell to (0-5) while the Warhawks improved to a (4-1) record.
After a back and forth opening set, the Warhawks won the match (25-16).
In set 2, the Golden Rams jumped out to a (19-11) lead and eventually the set (25-16).
In set 3, the Golden Rams and Warhawks battled to a (10-9) score midway through the match. The Golden Rams called a timeout after the Warhawks raced to a (16-12) lead. After the timeout, the Golden Rams tied the score (17-17). But, the Warhawks regrouped and won set 3 by the score of (25-19).
In set 4, the Warhawks defeated the Golden Rams (25-15) to win the game (3-1).
