The Albany State Golden Rams women's soccer team will open the 2023 season against the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 31, in Americus, Georgia.
Coach
Jared Beauchamp will enter year 3 with high hopes for a roster that features several transfers and freshmen.
"I'm very excited about this years' team. We have a lot of strong players that love to compete with each other in training. They have been working hard from day one and are showing a lot of improvement every day. I am looking forward to our first regular season game on Thursday to really see where we are as a team," said Beauchamp.
The Golden Rams and Hurricanes played twice in 2022. On August 25, the Golden Rams were defeated (1-3) by the Hurricanes. On September 14, the Hurricanes defeated the Golden Rams (4-0).
Even though the Golden Rams and Hurricanes are both members of the Peach Belt Conference, their contest on Thursday won't count in the conference standings. The Golden Rams and Hurricanes will also play on Wednesday, September 20, in Albany. That game will count in the conference standings.
