Lady Golden Rams Fall in Home Finale Against Flagler

Albany, Ga. — The Albany State women's soccer team closed out their home slate on Saturday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Complex, falling 8-0 to visiting Flagler College. Despite the loss, the Lady Golden Rams showed grit and determination throughout the match, creating several offensive opportunities while battling against one of the Peach Belt Conference's most efficient scoring teams.

Junior forward Jordyn Keene led the way offensively for Albany State, tallying four shots on goal, while Sinatra Vaughn, Emmi Sullivan, and Nelia Dailey each added strong attacking efforts. Goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez Najera was a standout in goal, recording an impressive 17 saves while facing relentless pressure from the Flagler attack.

Flagler jumped out to an early lead and continued to capitalize on their offensive rhythm, scoring seven goals in the first half before adding one more late in the second. Despite the scoreline, the Lady Golden Rams continued to press forward and fight until the final whistle, earning valuable minutes for several key contributors.

Up next, Albany State (2-11-1, 0-8-1 PBC) heads back on the road for a non-conference matchup against LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga., on Wednesday, Oct. 29, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. The Lady Golden Rams will look to bounce back and close out the season on a strong note.
