The Golden Rams and Lions met for a double header softball game on Valentine's Day on Tuesday afternoon. In game 1, the Lions defeated the Golden Rams (5-3). In game 2, the Golden Rams won (4-3). The Golden Rams are now (4-4) overall while Paine College is (2-6) on the season.
In game 1, the Golden Rams led (2-0) until the Lions exploded for 5 runs in the 6
th and 7
th innings.
Madison Hurt, Romona McLeod and Morgan Brown had 2 hits each for the Golden Rams. Trista Murphy and Kennedy Dora also tallied a hit for the Golden Rams.
Trista Murphy lost her first appearance of the season. Murphy is now (0-1).
In game 2, the Golden Rams hit 3 doubles to help them escape with a (4-3) win over the Lions.
Glory Seay's double in the 3
rd inning tied the score (3-3) while Tiana McFarland's double in the inning gave the Golden Rams a (4-3) lead that they wouldn't relinquish.
Kylie Barnett got her first win as a Golden Ram. Kylie pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up 3 runs.
