Golden Rams Defeated by Tigers in SIAC/ GSC Basketball Challenge

On day 2 of the SIAC and Gulf South Conference Basketball Challenge, the Albany State Golden Rams men's basketball team were defeated (87-56) by the University of West Alabama Tigers in Livingston, Alabama.  The Golden Rams fell to (0-2) while the Tigers improved to (2-0) on the season.
 
The Golden Rams trailed (37-21) at the half.  The Golden Rams were 8-24 from the field in the 1st half.  The Tigers were 11-24 from the field and 5-13 from the 3-point line.
 
In the 2nd half, the Golden Rams were 14-29 from the field.  But, the Golden Rams were outscored (50-35) in the 2nd half.  The Tigers were 14-23 from the field and 6-9 from the 3-point line. 
 
The Golden Rams shot 22/53 (41.5%) from the field in the game.  The Golden Rams connected on 6/16 (37.5%) from the 3-point line.  The Golden Rams also made 6/11 (54.5%) attempts from the free throw line in the game.
 
Maurice Dickson led the Golden Rams in scoring with 18 points.  Dickson was 7-14 field and 3-6 from the 3-point line.  Maxwell Harris finished with 12 points.  Harris was 4-7 from the field and 2-4 from the 3-point line.
 
The Tigers had (5) players in double figures.  Justin Allison led the Tigers with 16 points.  Shardarrion Allen and Kuran Garner both had 14 points.  Terry Durham finished with 11 points and Trevor Dennis contributed with 10 points.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action when they play the Virginia Union at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 18, at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.  The Golden Rams will also play Livingstone College at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, at Morehouse College.
