STATESBORO, Ga. – Albany State University track & field program participated in the G.A.T.A. Classic this weekend hosted by Georgia Southern University. Both the men's and women's track & field teams finished securing the fourth-place finish. ASU men scored 103 points on the weekend, while the Golden Rams women scored 62 points.
On the men's side in the 100 meters, the Golden Rams would finish first, third and fifth to collect points.
Ed Gilbert posted a time of 11.01 to take home the number one spot.
Clifford Russell finished in the third spot with a time of 11.21.
Stephon Williams secured the fifth spot for the Golden Rams with a time of 11.35. In the 200 meter,
Ed Gilbert, posted a first-place finish with a time of 22.08 in the event.
Pierre Weaver finished eighth with a time of 23.62.
Cameo Wilkerson would finish second in the men's 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.09.

Timothy Heyward collected the first-place finish in the men's 4X100 relay with a time of 43.44.

Antwan Goseer secured the third-place finish in the men's 4X400 relays with a time of 3:28.52.
Keyshawn Jackson finished in the number one spot in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.82m.
Jordan Smith placed fourth in the men's long jump with a 6.39m mark.
Kobe Russell finished in the top spot in the men's javelin with a 35.86m mark.
Erin McCoy finished sixth in the 400 meters, posting a time of 59.36. McCoy finished seventh in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:11.07.
Sydney Blackburn placed second in the shot put with a 11.77m mark.
Ty'Asia Thornton was right behind with a third place finished and a 11.72m mark.
Jasmine Witchard placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:22.97. The Golden Rams 4x100 and 4x400 teams both finished fifth and sixth in their respective events this weekend.
Sydney Blackburn won the discus with a 45.46m mark.
Khadija Williams placed second in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 40.73m.
