Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. (February 23, 2021) - The Albany State University baseball team secured a 6-5 victory over host Georgia Southwestern State University this evening.
 
The Hurricanes fall to 1-3 on the season while the Golden Rams improved to 2-1 on the year. Albany State opened the contest plating a run to take a 5-0 lead. 
 
The Blue & Gold opened the top of the first inning scoring when Travis Ray doubled down the left field line that scored Lachlan Ross and Wyatt Setian. Chasen Roulhac singled to right field to plate three runs with the Golden Rams taking a 5-0 lead. One inning later, Roulhac singled to center field to plate Kevin Bryant II to take a 6-0 lead. The hurricanes answered with adding a run in the bottom of the third to cut ASU's lead 6-1. The Golden Rams would remain scoreless for the rest of the contest. Georgia Southwestern then added four runs in the fifth inning but wasn't enough with the Golden Rams securing a 6-5 victory. 
 
GSW finished the contest outhitting ASU 6-5. 
 
Chasen Roulhac led the Golden Rams with going two-for-four at the plate. Roulhac recorded four RBIs in the contest. 
 
Albany State University will return to action on Thursday, February 25th as they host Lincoln University (Pa.). First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
