Box Score 2 Emerson, Ga. – The Albany State University baseball yields a split decision in its season opener doubleheader action against the Emmanuel College Lions on Sunday.  
 
Game One 
The Golden Rams started the game jumping out to a 1-0 lead when 
Jaelyn Brooks singled to plate 
Chasen Roulhac in the top of the third. ASU continued to edge the Lions 2-0 with a run in the fourth inning. 
 
 
The Lions bats came alive in the bottom of the sixth inning making the score two all before EC's Hunter Reeves singled to score a run taking the victory.
Both sides saw strong pitching performances in the contest. The Golden Rams pitchers struck out 13, while the Lions sat six. 
The Golden Rams finished the contest with two pitching changes. Finishing things out on the mound for ASU was 
Jonathan Henry pitching two innings allowing only one hit, one walk and two strikeouts in the nine batters faces.
Albany State University collected 10 hits in the contest. The Golden Rams was paced by 
Lachlan Ross and 
Chasen Roulhac who both finished the contest recording multiple hits. Ross was 3-for-4 at the plate. GavinSloan made the most plays with 12.
 
Game Two 
The Golden Rams entered game two with momentum taking an early 3-2 lead in the second inning.  
TJ Thomas II singled to second base bringing 
Nate Lloyd across home plate. ASU took a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning when 
Wyatt Setian singled to left field scoring 
Chasen Roulhac.
The Golden Rams would hold the lead for the rest of the contest with adding three runs in the eighth inning. The runs was scored on a double by 
Nate Lloyd to secure the game two victory (7-3).
Michael Reddick was credited with the victory on the mound for the Golden Rams. Reddick allowed three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four.  
Brock Rountree, 
Tre Turner, and 
Chasen Roulhac all put in work for the Golden Rams pitching the remaining innings of the contest to help take the victory.
The Blue and Gold finished with 10 hits for the second time this season.  Nate 
Lloyd, 
Kevin Bryant II, and 
Lachlan Ross all collected multiple hits.  
Lloyd went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead ASU.
 
What's Next?
The Golden Rams will return to the field on Tuesday, February 23
rd as they travel to Americus, Georgia to face the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State University. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
