ALBANY, Ga. - The Albany State University men's basketball program finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 14-16 overall record. The Golden Rams finished second in the Eastern Division with a 12-5 SIAC conference record under the leadership of head coach
Patrick Gayle.
Albany State was recently picked to finish 2nd overall in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
This year's 2019-2020 program returns five players including starters
Mario Young (6-3/Guard/Mansfield, Ohio),
Randy McClure (6-5/Guard/Forward/Paulding, Georgia) and
Napoleon Harris (6-8/Forward/Albany, Georgia) who have started and played significant minutes. ASU also returns
Juwan High (5-11/Guard/Americus, Georgia) and
Titus Burns (6-1/Guard/Havana, Florida) will all be key players.

We also have a great recruiting class coming in the 2019-20 season that includes
Kamil Brown (6-7/Guard/Elizabeth, New Jersey) a transfer from the St. Thomas University,
Joshua Jerome (6-6/Guard/Pembroke Pines, Florida) a transfer from Lincoln Memorial University and
Jarmarcis Nunally (5-10/Guard/Albany, Georgia) a transfer from Albany Technical College. Also added to the roster is freshman
Khalif Napoleon (6-8/Forward/Brooklyn, New York) who has a chance of having a tremendous career here at Albany State University.Â

Albany State University has always been an extremely balanced team, with size and depth. We take pride in competing at an extremely high level. We are always one of the best defensive teams in the country, while attacking in transition, and being dominate on the glass.

"We believe that the 2019-20 season could be even better than last season." said head coach
Patrick Gayle. "The key will be getting the new guys up to speed with our system. With our size and athleticism we think that we have a chance to be really good. Also I think our guard play will be much improved."
