AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Zackary Johnson posted a Top 10 finish to lead the Albany State University men's cross country team at the Jaguar Invitational, hosted by Augusta University at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site.
Johnson, a sophomore from Waverly, Alabama, finished ninth with a time of 27:14.23.
Chaz Berry was next for the Golden Rams, finishing in 26
th place at 28:56.16, 40 seconds faster than his time at last year's Jaguar Invitational.
Freshmen
Joshua Stapleton (51
st, 35:11.36), Timothy Heyward (54
th, 37:05.85) and
Rodney Tookes (56
th, 39:38.59) rounded out ASU's results. It was Heyward's first race as a Golden Ram.
Albany State finished seventh among nine teams, with host Augusta winning the race ahead of Georgia College and Clayton State.
