RESULTSÂ
LAKELAND, Fla. – Four Albany State University runners competed in the NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Championships, Nov. 17, at Holloway Park. The race was hosted by Florida Southern University and Polk Sports Marketing.
In the women's 6K,
Lauryn Wilson finished in a time of 25:27.28, while
Erin McCoy posted a time of 30:32.92 in her first NCAA South Region race.
Zackary Johnson and
Joshua Stapleton represented ASU on the men's side. Johnson finished 86
th in the 10K with a time of 34:56.13, while Stapleton was 133
rd with a time of 44:12.89.
On the women's side, Embry-Riddle won the regional championship, led by individual winner Sarah Edens, who completed the race with a time of 21:18.61. Union, Tampa, Saint Leo and Lee join Embry-Riddle with bids to the NCAA Division II Championship.
Embry-Riddle also won the men's race, with Lee University's Christian Noble beating out the field in a time of 31:19.17. Embry-Riddle, Lee, Florida Southern, Alabama-Huntsville and Mississippi College all earned bids to the NCAA Division II Championship.
