ROCK HILL, S.C. (October 25, 2019) – The Albany State University men's cross country finished sixth at the 2019 SIAC Men's Cross Country Championship at Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Friday morning.
Khali Madison and
Zackary Johnson led the Golden Rams finishing the contest in the top 15 finishes.
Khali Madison came in at the 11
th spot with a time of 27:46.9. Followed by teammate
Zackary Johnson in the 12
th spot with a time of 27:49.3.
Benedict College men's cross country claimed the 2019 SIAC Men's Cross Country Championship title.
This year, Benedict placed four runners in the top 10 in a field of 82 athletes as they captured the title with 34 points. Spring Hill finished with two runners in the top 15 and finished with 82 points. Savannah State trailed in third place with three runners in the top 15 with 104 points. The remaining order of finish included Morehouse (110), Central State (123), Albany State (126), Kentucky State (155), Tuskegee (242), Clark Atlanta (253), Paine (266), Fort Valley State (276), Lane (303), and Miles (367).
Benedict's head coach Frank Hyland claimed the 2019 SIAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year award alongside his freshman runner Mathew Chesum who earned the 2019 SIAC Runner of the Year award finishing with a time of 26:06.0.
