ALBANY, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its 2026 preseason football poll and preseason all-conference teams during SIAC Football Media Day on Tuesday.
Albany State was selected to finish fourth in the conference preseason poll heading into the 2026 season.
The Golden Rams also saw two student-athletes earn Preseason All-SIAC recognition.
Senior defensive lineman Derrick Drayton was named First Team All-SIAC on the defensive line after establishing himself as one of the conference's top defensive playmakers.
Senior return specialist Cameron Watts earned First Team All-SIAC honors as a kick returner while also being named Second Team All-SIAC as a punt returner, recognizing his ability to impact games on special teams.
"It is a testament to these two young men who have flourished in the Albany State University football program," said head coach David Bowser. "Cam and Derrick have been stalwarts and are looking to have an even bigger season this year."
The Golden Rams will look to build on the preseason recognition as they prepare for the start of the 2026 football season and compete for another SIAC championship.
