Atlanta, Ga. — Five student-athletes from Albany State University earned recognition from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as the conference announced its 2026 Softball All-Conference teams and postseason honors on Monday. Freshman standout
McKenzie Fitch headlined the selections after being named the 2026 SIAC Relief Pitcher of the Year.
The Golden Rams placed two student-athletes on the All-SIAC First Team and three on the Second Team, highlighting another strong season for Albany State softball.
Fitch, a freshman from Dacula, Georgia, earned multiple honors after a breakout campaign in the circle. In addition to being selected to the All-SIAC First Team as a starting pitcher, she was named the conference's Relief Pitcher of the Year and also earned Second Team recognition in the relief pitcher category.
Joining Fitch on the All-SIAC First Team was freshman outfielder
Tranasia Parker of Gray, Georgia. Parker made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, becoming a key contributor offensively and defensively.
Albany State added three additional selections to the Second Team, beginning with freshman catcher
Kyla Fitch of Dacula, Georgia. Fitch emerged as a reliable presence behind the plate. Senior first baseman Avery Fisher of Richmond Hill, Georgia, also secured Second Team honors after delivering a strong final season in the Blue and Gold.
The SIAC also announced its major individual award winners, with Meadow Villar of Spring Hill College earning Player of the Year honors. Monica Rose of Tuskegee University was named Starting Pitcher of the Year and Elite 16 Honoree, while Kenya Tatum of Tuskegee collected Freshman of the Year recognition. Jasmin Stewart of Fort Valley State University earned Utility Player of the Year honors, and Tuskegee head coach Dietrich Randle was selected as Coach of the Year.
