Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Albany State Falls to Lander in Conference Opener

Albany, Ga. – The Albany State University women's soccer team opened conference play on Saturday afternoon but came up short against a strong Lander University squad, falling 0-5 at the ASU Soccer Complex. With the loss, the Lady Golden Rams move to 1-3 overall, while the Lady Bearcats improve to 4-1-1 on the season.

Lander struck early and never looked back, applying consistent pressure on the Albany State back line and capitalizing on scoring opportunities throughout the match. Despite the final score, the Lady Golden Rams fought hard in stretches, generating moments of transition offense, but were unable to convert against the disciplined Bearcats' defense.

Albany State goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez Najera made several key saves to keep the Golden Rams within reach, while Jada Goodman and Sinatra Vaughn helped spark offensive pushes with shot attempts. However, the Lady Bearcats' experience and depth proved too much as they pulled away in the second half to secure the win.
