Dahlonega, Ga. – The Albany State women's cross country team turned in a strong team performance on Saturday, finishing sixth overall at the UNG Cross Country Invitational, which featured 126 runners from programs across NCAA Division I, Division II, NAIA, and JUCO levels.
The Lady Golden Rams were led by
Brea Vann, who clocked a 19:56.2 (22nd place), followed closely by
Faith Thompson in 23rd (20:00.9) and
Sydney Haywood in 27th (20:15.5). The trio's consistency up front helped keep ASU competitive in a large and challenging field.
Rounding out the scoring for Albany State,
Dasia Gilyard crossed in 47th (21:16.0), while
Azzaria Brown (22:38.9, 70th) and
Breona Issac (22:50.2, 72nd) added depth to the lineup. Freshman
Taryn Adams gained valuable collegiate experience, finishing in 97th with a 27:01.2.
With another top-10 team finish against a diverse and competitive field, the Lady Golden Rams continue to show growth and consistency early in the season.
