Carrollton, Ga. – The Albany State University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams delivered another outstanding weekend of performances at the UWG Legends Invitational, hosted by the University of West Georgia on April 4–5. The Lady Golden Rams secured a strong 2nd place overall finish, while the men's squad claimed 3rd, showcasing the depth and talent of the program as the season heats up.
The invitational, held in honor of the legends who helped shape the UWG program, provided the perfect stage for the Golden Rams to continue building momentum toward championship season. ASU athletes recorded numerous top-three finishes, highlighted by eight 1st-place performances and several personal bests across the board.
Top Performers – Women's Team Highlights:
- Mykhayla Carroll dominated the field in the hammer throw, clinching 1st place with a mark of 47.50m.
- Zenay Rhaney was a force on the track, finishing 1st in the 800m (2:16.68) and 3rd in the 1500m (5:14.59).
- The women's 4x100m relay team of Dasia Gilyard, Cadence Cray, Taniyah Kelley, and Jeniya Lawrence blazed to a 1st-place finish with an impressive time of 45.82.
- DeAna Albert earned 2nd place in the 100m hurdles (14.89).
- Nathalia Rowe powered to a 1st-place finish in the 400m dash (55.67).
- Cadence Cray doubled up with a strong showing in the 200m dash, earning 2nd place (24.18).
- Julianna Kern claimed 2nd place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.58m.

With both squads placing inside the top three overall, the Golden Rams continue to prove themselves as top contenders in the SIAC. The performances at UWG demonstrate the team's growing consistency and championship potential heading into the final weeks of the season.

The Golden Rams will now turn their focus to their home meet, the annual Alice Coachman Invitational, set for Friday, April 12 at the ASU Track Complex. The meet will also serve as Senior Day, where the program will honor its graduating student-athletes for their dedication and contributions.
