Albany, GA – The Albany State University women's tennis team closed out its regular season on a high note, defeating Spring Hill College in a thrilling 4-3 Senior Day victory at the Courts at West Campus on Wednesday afternoon. The hard-fought win not only fittingly honored the team's seniors but also gave the Lady Golden Rams momentum heading into postseason play.
The match began with intensity as the Lady Golden Rams took control early in doubles play, securing the critical 1-0 lead. Albany State captured two of the three doubles matches, with cohesive teamwork and aggressive net play setting the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
In singles action,
Natalya Ogunwale,
Julie Tungamirai, and
Jenny Zapien each delivered clutch victories to give Albany State the three points needed to clinch the match. Their composure and consistency under pressure proved vital as the Lady Badgers pushed ASU to the wire in several competitive sets.

With the win, the Lady Golden Rams improve to 12-6 overall (12-2 SIAC) and are now set to shift focus to the 2025 SIAC Championship Tournament, scheduled for April 18-19 in Peachtree City, GA. Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently field teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football.
