Golden Rams Dominate at the Emory Spring Break Classic!

Atlanta, GA – The Albany State University track and field teams delivered standout performances at the Emory Spring Break Classic, posting multiple first-place finishes, a national qualifying time, and several podium placements across events. The Golden Rams showcased their depth and dominance, competing against a strong field of athletes.
 
Top Performers
Leading the charge for the men's team, Kibren Moore had a spectacular meet, securing first place in both the 100m (10.27) and 200m (21.16), with his 200m time qualifying for nationals. Moore was also a key member of the first-place 4x400m relay team, alongside Jonathan Kelly, Adoni Nembhard-Belcher, and Malachi Fletcher, clocking in at 3:13.30.
 
On the women's side, Cadence Cray dominated the 100m sprint, taking first place with a time of 11.65. She also secured a fourth-place finish in the 200m (24.77) and contributed to the women's 4x100m relay, which finished second (47.04) alongside Dasia Gilyard, Taniyah Kelley, and Jeniya Lawrence.
 
Nathalia Rowe impressed in the 400m hurdles, earning second place with a national qualifying time of 1:00.42, solidifying her as one of the top competitors in the event. Jordan Smith also delivered in the men's 400m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 53.56.
 
In the field events, Mykhayla Carroll secured a second-place finish in the hammer throw, with a mark of 46.02m, demonstrating her strength and consistency.
 
For the distance runners, Taylor Franklin claimed second place in the 10,000m (44:23.29), while Micah Harris finished fourth in the men's 10,000m (36:43.50).
 
Jayvon Hutchinson also brought home gold, taking first place in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.31, while Zenay Rhaney placed third in the 800m (2:18.29).
 
Up Next
The Golden Rams will continue their season in Atlanta on March 27, competing at the prestigious Morehouse Relays. With multiple national qualifying marks already secured, Albany State will look to build on its momentum and continue its dominance in SIAC competition.

ABOUT ALBANY STATE ATHLETICS
Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently field teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football. All teams compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
