Montevallo, AL - Albany State track & field team continued to build momentum with strong performances at the Falcon Classic in Montevallo, AL, delivering several first-place finishes and top marks. Competing against a competitive field, the Golden Rams showcased their depth and talent in both track and field events.
One of the standout performances came from the women's 4x400m relay team (
Zenay Rhaney,
Termetrius Stone,
Azzaria Brown, and
Kaila Wimes), who dominated the competition with a first-place finish in 4:16.61. On the men's side,
Jayvon Hutchinson put on a stellar display in the 110m hurdles, clocking 14.49 seconds to take home another first-place finish for Albany State.
In the sprinting events,
Kibren Moore was electric in the men's 200m, securing first place with a blazing time of 21.20, while
Cadence Cray took the top spot in the women's 200m, crossing the line in 24.90 seconds. In the high jump,
Julianna Kern cleared 1.60m, earning first place in the event.
Other notable finishes included
Nathalia Rowe, who clocked 56.48 seconds in the women's 400m to claim second place, and
Tyler Mapson, who placed third in the men's 400m with a time of 48.37.
Adoni Nembhard-Belcher delivered a solid performance in the men's 400m hurdles, finishing third in 55.90 seconds.
Additional strong showings came from
Mayah Thompson, who placed fourth in the 100m hurdles (15.64s), and
Dasia Gilyard, who secured fourth place in the women's 100m with a time of 12.28s.
Kennedy Walker also finished fourth in the women's 400m hurdles (1:08.20), while
Bangally Tourey placed fourth in the men's 400m (1:57.72).
In the field events,
Mykhayla Carroll continued her consistent form, registering a mark of 11.23m in the shot put, while
Jaelin Joseph cleared 1.90m in the high jump, securing fourth place.
