Albany, Ga. - The Albany State University Women's Basketball program is entering a new chapter of excitement and promise as Interim Head Coach
Todd Triplett prepares for his first season at the helm. With a focus on building a dynamic and disciplined team, Triplett and his staff have assembled a talented incoming class featuring three experienced transfers and seven skilled freshmen, each bringing their own blend of athleticism, leadership, and championship pedigree to the program.
Transfer Additions: Experience and Impact
Returning to her southern roots,
Paris Triplett joins the Lady Golden Rams as a transfer center from Rollins College. Standing tall in the paint, Paris brings a commanding interior presence on both ends of the floor. During her time at Ocoee High School, she set program records for most rebounds in a season and most blocks in a season, showcasing her dominance as a rim protector and rebounder. With her rebounding instincts and defensive intensity, she is expected to anchor Albany State's front court and serve as a veteran leader among the newcomers.
A two-year letter winner at South Carolina State University,
Jada Morgan adds experience and scoring versatility to Albany State's back court. Before her collegiate career, she was a standout at Warner Robins High School, where she earned two First Team All-Region selections, First Team All-State, Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and All-Tournament honors. She also became a proud member of the 1,000-Point Club. A former member of the Macon Mystics AAU program under Coach Terry Odom, Morgan's ability to create off the dribble and defend multiple positions will make her an immediate contributor for the Lady Golden Rams.
Tiffani Goodman arrives from Coastal Alabama Community College, bringing collegiate experience and a decorated prep background. As a standout at Southwest High School, Goodman led her team to multiple deep postseason runs, including the 2022 GHSA Class AAA State Quarterfinals and a 2020 GHSA Class AAAA State Championship. Known for her court vision and leadership, Goodman averaged 11.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.4 steals per game during her senior season, earning Region Co-Player of the Year and Second Team All-State honors. Her ability to control the tempo and distribute effectively will be vital to the team's offensive rhythm.
Freshmen Class: Youthful Energy and Versatility
Born in Valdosta, Georgia, and raised in Phenix City, Alabama,
Chantell Barnes brings strength, intelligence, and leadership to the post. A two-time Defensive MVP, Offensive MVP, and Team Captain, Barnes also maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, proving her excellence both on and off the court. As a two-time All-Area selection, her presence in the paint will provide depth and defensive stability for the Lady Golden Rams.
Coming from one of the top prep programs in the nation,
Kamya Young joins Albany State from AZ Compass Prep in Phoenix, Arizona. A quick and confident guard, Young adds speed, athleticism, and perimeter scoring to the rotation. Her competitive edge and prep-level experience against elite competition will translate seamlessly into SIAC play.
Hailing from Central Islip, New York, but raised in South Georgia,
Bayyinah Citlak made a name for herself at Lee County High School. A well-rounded guard with both offensive and defensive accolades, Citlak was a multi-year All-Region selection, earning First Team All-Region (2024), Defensive Player of the Year (2024–25), and Offensive Player of the Year (2023–24) honors. Recognized as one of the Top Five Free Throw Shooters in the Albany area, Citlak's consistency and basketball IQ will strengthen Albany State's guard rotation.
A native of Chicago, Illinois,
Jayla Johnson joins Albany State following a championship-winning career at Central Florida Christian Academy, where she helped lead her team to the 2023–24 Florida State Championship. Johnson's winning mentality, energy, and scoring ability make her a perfect fit for the Lady Golden Rams' up-tempo style.
Zora Jackson arrives from Southeastern Prep Academy in Orlando, where she developed a reputation as a poised floor general with exceptional ball-handling and decision-making skills. Her ability to run the offense, push the pace, and set up teammates will make her a valuable young piece in Coach Triplett's system.
Jolena Gardner brings versatility and size to Albany State's front court. A product of Columbia High School, Gardner is known for her rebounding, hustle, and defensive intensity. Her work ethic and toughness around the rim will provide a strong interior presence as she develops under collegiate competition.
Rounding out the class is
Sariah Johnson, a forward from Dr. Phillips High School—one of Florida's premier basketball programs. Johnson brings length, athleticism, and defensive versatility to the roster. Her ability to guard multiple positions and contribute on the boards adds valuable depth to the Lady Golden Rams' front-court rotation.
With a mix of experienced transfers and talented freshmen, Head Coach
Todd Triplett is building a foundation centered on competitiveness, accountability, and teamwork. As the 2025–2026 season approaches, the Lady Golden Rams are poised to make noise in the SIAC, blending veteran presence with youthful energy under a renewed sense of purpose.
