Albany, GA – The Albany State University Women's Soccer team is set to open conference play with a matchup against Clayton State University on Saturday, September 21, at 5 p.m. at the ASU Soccer Complex. The Lady Golden Rams are entering the contest on a high note, coming off their first win of the season, a 5-1 victory over Allen University.
The Lady Golden Rams are looking to carry that momentum into their conference opener. However, they face a formidable opponent in Clayton State, who defeated Albany State 10-0 in their last meeting. The Lakers enter the game after securing a close 3-2 victory over Young Harris, and they will be looking to build on that success.
"We're excited to start conference play and take on a strong Clayton State team," said Head Coach,
Jared Beauchamp. "Our win over Allen has given us a boost of confidence, and the players have been working hard to improve. We know Clayton State will be a tough challenge, but we're ready to compete."
Albany State will rely on its improving defense and attacking prowess as they look to avenge last year's loss and make a strong statement in conference play.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lady Golden Rams as they take the field for their first home conference game of the season. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at the ASU Soccer Complex.
