ALBANY, Ga. – The Golden Rams saw the weekend sweep slip away, but they will take winning the series. Albany State's Jonathan Logsdon scored three times in the 8-5 opening victory before his three RBI second effort was not enough as Miles College salvaged a 9-4 late baseball final.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the fourth, ASU (6-4/2-1 SIAC East) saw Zane Ross draw a bases-loaded walk before Luke Addison sliced a two-run single to go ahead 5-3. Dominic Rutigliano's ground out to plate Corley Hill proved to be the winning run in the seventh to make it a 6-3 score. Addison singled home his third teammate and Corley Hill lofted a sac fly to end the opener's scoring in the eighth.

Miles College (5-9/1-2 SIAC West) plated a pair of unearned runs to start the late game and never trailed. The Bears added three more pairs of scores in the second, fourth and fifth innings to establish an 8-1 lead. Logsdon doubled home the first ASU run in the third, belted a two-run homer in the fifth and had a sac fly in the seventh to be part of all four Golden Ram runs.

Logsdon finished the day 3 for 5 with four runs, a two-run homer, a double and three RBI. Emory Stephens was right with Logsdon at 4 for 8 with two runs and one RBI. Addison finished game one 2 for 5 with three RBI. Hill had the unusual line of being 1 for 1 but with two runs, two RBI, a walk, hit by a pitch twice and a sac fly. Ross was the lone other multiple hit Ram with a single and an RBI in each game with a run scored.

In the first game, Calvin Baker picked up the win where he went four innings as he gave up four hits, three earned runs and struck out two. Tyler Bullock, Addison and Gercal Reyes, who also singled at the plate, all had scoreless outings in the opener as well.

Game 1

Following a Bears solo home run in the first, Stephens singled in a run the second frame to tie the contest. Both teams added single third-inning scores, before the ASU three-run fourth.

Game 2

Miles used a solo home run in the first and both a leadoff and an inside-the-park home run variety in the second to open an 4-0 advantage. A Logsdon run-scoring double in the third cut the deficit to 4-1, but the Golden Rams were unable to get any closer.

ASU will have Sunday off before it hosts the University of Tampa in a Monday afternoon (Feb. 26) single contest starting at 2 p.m.
