The Albany State Golden Rams tennis team finished as the 1
st Runner Up in the 2023 SIAC Championship Tournament that was held on April 15-16, in Peachtree City, Georgia. The Golden Rams finished the season with an (18-8) overall and (12-4) record in the SIAC.
On Saturday, April 15, the Golden Rams defeated Tuskegee (4-2) in the semi-finals of the SIAC Tournament. With the win, the Golden Rams advanced to the championship game that was held on Sunday, April 16. In the championship match, the Golden Rams were defeated (4-2) by the Benedict College Tigers.
Despite the loss in the championship, the Golden Rams had a great season! Natalya
Ogunwale of Albany State was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (
SIAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Year and headlines the 2023
All-SIAC Team. Ogunwale partnered with doubles teammate Asia
Raulerson to earn a 12-1 record in conference play and receive all-conference honors. Both players were also named to the SIAC All Conference Team for singles play.
