The Albany State Golden Rams lost (47-10) to the Benedict Tigers in the 2023 SIAC Football Championship on Saturday afternoon at Lakewood Stadium, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Golden Rams will end the season (6-5) in Quinn Gray's first season as head coach. The Benedict Tigers are now (11-0) and back to back SIAC Champions.

First Quarter
The Tigers took a (3-0) lead after Tom Piccirillo connected on a 25 yard field at the 6:55 mark

Second Quarter
The Tigers extended their lead to (10-0) after Caden High caught a 28 yard touchdown pass from Aeneas Dennis at the 12:13 mark.

The Tigers increased their lead to (17-0) after Reginald Harden caught a 55 yard touchdown pass from Aeneas Dennis at the 7:46 mark.

The Golden Rams got on the board after
Eli Mashburn connected on a 35 yard field goal with 9 seconds left in the half.

Third Quarter
Aeneas Dennis scored on a 72 yard run to increase the Tigers lead to (30-3) at the 10:46 mark.

Dionte Bonneau scored on a 5 yard run to make the score (30-10) at the 7:41 mark.

Tom Piccirillo connected on a 32 yard field goal to extend the Tigers lead to (33-10) at the 2:36 mark.

Fourth Quarter
Zaire Scotland scored on a 3 yard run to give the Tigers a (40-10) lead at the 14:08 mark.

Zavien Foster scored on a 75 yard run to push the lead to (47-10) with 4:13 left in the 4
th quarter.

Although the ultimate goal of winning the SIAC Championship didn't happen, the Golden Rams had a good year in Quinn Gray's first year as head coach. The future is definitely bright for the Golden Rams as we turn the page to next season.Â
