The Albany State Golden Rams volleyball team defeated the Edward Waters Tigers in 5 sets at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex on Tuesday evening, in Jacksonville, Florida.  It was the Tigers 1^st loss at home this season. 
 
With the win, the Golden Rams improved to (17-13) overall and (16-3) in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while the Tigers fell to (19-6) overall and (16-2) in the SIAC.
 
The Golden Rams won set 1 by the score of (25-22).  The Tigers battled back to defeat the Golden Rams (25-14) in set 2.  In set 3, the Tigers won (26-24).  But, the Golden Rams gathered themselves and won set 4 (25-18) to force a set 5.  In set 5, the Golden Rams defeated the Tigers (15-11) to win the hard fought game on Halloween Night.
 
Jarianis Perez led the Golden Rams with 14 kills and 3 aces.  Sydney Melton contributed with 12 kills in the game and led the team with 17 digs.  Kaylin Teasley finished with 5 blocks.  Natalie Onozie led the Golden Rams with 45 assists.
 
Fatima Ramirez led the Tigers with 25 kills.  Brandy Gilberry finished with 4 blocks.  Mataiya Barber led the Tigers with 50 assists while Jenieth Guzman contributed with 20 digs.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action on the road against Middle Georgia State University at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1.
