On Pink Out Night, the Albany State Golden Rams volleyball team lost (3-0) to the Edward Waters Tigers at The Jones Brothers Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex on Wednesday evening. It was the Golden Rams second game in as many nights.
With the loss, the Golden Rams are now (14-11) overall and (14-2) in the SIAC. The Tigers improved to (15-5) overall and (12-1) in the conference.
In set 1, the Tigers won (25-22). The Tigers won set 2 by the score of (27-25). In set 3, the Tigers defeated the Golden Rams (25-20).
As a team, the Golden Rams finished with 46 points, 40 kills, 2 aces, 4 blocks, 39 assists and 46 digs.
Jarianis Perez led the Golden Rams with 12 kills and 2 aces.
Khamari Trotter finished with 3 blocks.
Natalie Onozie led the Golden Rams with 19 assists. Sudney Melton led the team with 12 digs.
The Tigers finished with 47 points, 39 kills, 5 aces, 3 blocks, 38 assists and 42 digs.
Fatima Ramirez led the Tigers with 21 kills and 2 aces. Brandy Gilberry also contributed with 2 aces and 2 blocks. De'Nyla Harlan had 2 blocks for the Tigers. Mataiya Barber finished with 35 assists while Jenieth Guzman led the Tigers with 12 digs.
The Golden Rams will be back in action at 6:00 pm against Talladega College on Friday, October 20. It will be Senior Day for the Golden Rams.
