The Albany State Golden Rams volleyball team defeated the Fort Valley State University Wildcats (3-0) on Thursday evening in Fort Valley, Georgia.  The Golden Rams improve to (1-0) on the season while the Wildcats fall to (0-1).
 
The Golden Rams dominated the 1^st set as they outscored the Wildcats (25-9).  In the 2^nd set, the Golden Rams finished the match by outscoring the Wildcats 17-5 to win (25-13).  In the final set, the Golden Rams defeated the Wildcats (25-11).
 
Jenae Thomas led the Golden Rams with 10 kills.  Mary Kate Preston finished with 3 aces for the Golden Rams.  Khamari Trotter led the Golden Rams with 5 blocks.  Chelsea Doswell had 14 assist and Hailey Elyicio had 18 digs for the Golden Rams. 
 
The Golden Rams will host the Savannah State Tigers at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6.
