The Albany State Golden Rams volleyball team is getting hot at the right time as they have won 8 of their last 9 games after defeating the Paine College Lions (3-0) at the ASU East Campus on Monday evening.Â

With the win, the Golden Rams improved to (13-6) overall while the Lions fell to (2-15) overall.

In set 1, the Golden Rams jumped out to a quick (8-3) lead. The Golden Rams maintained a 5-point lead when they went up (18-13). The Lions called a timeout with the score (20-14) as the Golden Rams began to garner some momentum.  The Golden Rams scored the last 5 out of 6 points to win the set (25-15).Â

In set 2, the Golden Rams jumped out to a quick (8-0) lead over the Lions. The Golden Rams extended their lead to (18-3). The Golden Rams won the set (25-8).

With the Golden Rams leading (7-2) in set 3, the Lions called a timeout to regroup. The Golden Rams continued to control the game as they led (16-10). The Golden Rams extended their lead to (22-11). The Golden Rams won the set (25-11).

Jenae Thomas led the Golden Rams with 10 kills.Â
Chelsea Doswell finished with 29 assists.Â
Sydney Melton and
Hailey Elyicio both finished with 12 digs for the Golden Rams.
