ALBANY, Ga. (March 21, 2019) -- The Albany State University track & field program is set to compete in its second two-day meet of the 2019 outdoor season this weekend, as the Golden Rams travel to Atlanta, Georgia as they compete in the Emory Invitational. Emory University will host the meet from Friday to Saturday, Mar. 22-23 at the Woodruff P.E. Center Track.
The meet will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. with would consists of multi events through the day. The Golden Rams will wrap things up on Saturday, March 23
rd with things kicking off a 9:00 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT: ASU last competed on Saturday, Mar. 15-16 at the Florida A&M Relays, hosted by Florida A&M University. The men grabbed four individual winners with
Christopher Jackson taking the 100 meter run victory with a time of 10.60.
Cervantes Jackson grabbed a first place finish in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of
15.00. He also finished first in the high jump.
Joshua Ajiero delivered another individual win in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.10.
The Golden Rams grabbed one individual winners in the meet.
Gabrielle Vincent finished the long jump in third with securing 5.21m.
Khadija Williams took the javelin throw win finishing with 34.90m.
ASU would take home one relay win in the meet with the 4x100 team each coming away victorious.
UP NEXT: Albany State University will host the Alice Coachman Invitational on Saturday, March 30
th at the ASU Robert Cross Track & Field Complex. The events are set to start at 800 a.m.
