Albany State (3-3, 1-1 PBC) will travel to Milledgeville, Georgia for a Peach Belt Conference match-up against Georgia College on Wednesday, October 16
th at 7 p.m.
The Golden Rams enter the contest falling to UNC Pembroke by a final score of 2-3 on October 9th to move to 3-5 overall. Alesha Kostrrwa scored the first goal for the Golden Rams at the 27:46 mark with an assistant by
Lovisa Mulunga to cut the Braves lead 2-1. Albany State University added its final goal in the second half by
Paula Guba at the 88:00 mark.
About the Bobcats
Georgia College enters the contest securing a 3-0 victory over Francis Marion on Wednesday, October 9
th.
The two teams reached the half scoreless, and although the Bobcats out-shot the Patriots 9-3, the possession was about even.
Junior Kia Jie Jacobs (Atlanta) broke the scoreless tie in the 53
rd minute with her second goal of the season. Classmate Cassie Balzano (Douglasville) split three defenders with a beautiful pass to Jacobs, who fired a shot into the left side of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Balzano herself doubled the team advantage, scoring in the 84
th minute. Classmate Sophia Bonser (Tyrone) sent a pass from the defensive half deep down the right side for Balzano. The Bobcats' leading scorer slipped one defender and then scored off the outside of her right foot.
Junior Becca Morris (Marietta) capped the scoring with a long-distance strike, gathering an attempted clear for the Patriots and firing away from about 25 yards out in the 85
th minute. The goal was her first this season and fourth of her career.
The Bobcat defense posted its second-straight shutout, as freshman goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) made four saves for her second career shutout.

The Bobcats of Georgia College currently holds a 2-0 series advantage over the Golden Rams.
The last time the two school met was September 28, 2018 where the bobcats collected a 7-0 victory.
