Box Score ALBANY, Ga.– The Albany State University women's soccer team ended their 2018 campaign Friday afternoon after a loss to Auburn University at Montgomery, 4-1.
Brittanie Evans scored the lone goal for the Golden Rams early in the first period. In the sixth minute of play Jenna Wade sent the ball from midfield to a wide open Evans who sprinted for 30 yards to take the shot and find the back of the net.
Auburn Montgomery answered in the 12thminute to tie the score when Mayson Jaindi caught a rebound off a Ruby Mendez shot for an open net goal.
Both teams traded shots for the remainder of the period, heading into the intermission knotted at one.
Less than six minutes into the second stanza, AUM struck again. Tonie Sledz scored unassisted from the left size putting the Warhawks up 2-0.
Shortly thereafter Mayson Jaindi found Ruby Mendez in the box increasing Auburn Montgomery's lead to 3-1.
Ruby Mendez scored the final goal for the Warhawks, leading them to a 4-1 victory. Mendez knocked in a header off a corner kick by Agnes Edlund in the 73rdminute.
